Sweet Earth’s Santa Fe Veggie Burgers are better than your average veggie burger, but still leave a lot to be desired. The mix of vital wheat gluten and traditional veggie burger fixings (quinoa, beans, corn, etc) leave you with a sturdy veggie burger that’s insanely easy to cook. The downside is that it is pretty dry, and just not very flavorful at all. Despite the plethora of ingredients, the flavor that you can taste is very one-note (just a vague spicy chili flavor). This might be my mistake, but the flavor is also not something that works very well together with traditional burger toppings. I would’ve been better off going full tex-mex and slathering some guacamole on the bun and skipping the cheese.
Sweet Earth’s Santa Fe Veggie Burgers come in vacuum sealed plastic packaged within a small cardboard box. Each box contains 2 4oz burger patties. These veggie burgers can be refrigerated or frozen, but we found them in the refrigerated section at the grocery store.
We purchased this product from our local Whole Foods for $4.99/box.
*If frozen, thaw before cooking. Thaw by submerging sealed burger patties in cool water for 10 minutes, or refrigerate overnight.
